bonzo finds his family

Me? A homewrecker?!?I am in love with Basset Hounds. I have a 5-year old basset hound named Bowzer.  I have always wanted another basset, however, my husband wouldn't allow it - he told me and my family that he would actually leave if we got another one. Well, as you can see by me writing this story, I now own another basset and my daughter gets to visit her dad every other weekend. <LOL>  This is a true story, however I left one part out.  We were having problems anyway so don't think I picked getting a basset over him, although I almost wish I had a long time ago.  But then I wouldn't have the little basset boy I have now.

I was looking for a basset rescue and came across BROOD on the internet.  I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw all the adoptable bassets available. Then I saw him - his name was "Aesop" and they described him as a very active, energetic young man. As I mentioned, I already have a 5-year old basset who is about 70 pounds and spends his days eating and sleeping, so when I read how energetic Aesop was, I had crossed my fingers that they would do fine together.  I am so thankful things worked out. Not only do they get along but Bowzer treats him as his son.

Bonzo loves to play!We changed Aesop's name to "Bonzo" because he didn't answer to "Aesop" anyway. Every morning he spends about 10-15 minutes cleaning Bonzo by giving him all kinds of kisses - they sleep side by side or nose to nose on my couch every night. Where one is found, the other is found with him. They love to chase each other and play - although Bowzer being 70 pounds and Bonzo being somewhere in the 30's, you can imagine who tires out first

Words can not describe how much Bonzo has enlightened our lives. He has such a wonderful personality and just loves everybody in my house. He is so lovable.  I am so lucky to have found Bonzo and I wouldn't trade him for anything in the world.
