real
"rescue bassets"
After
scanning the BROOD website for several months, I finally took the plunge
and adopted. Into our lives,
bounced Buttercup and what a joy she became to our family.
She instantly knew when I was having a bad day and always knew
how to make everyone laugh. After
living with her for a few months, I asked myself how I could have gone
so long without someone as loving as she.
Not
long ago, our family moved to a larger home out in the country and
decided why not enlarge the family to include another bundle of joy.
Again, I went on to the website and there is where I met Henry.
True, both of my new babies had difficult pasts, but I was sure
that a little love would change those memories.
I never realized how true that statement was until recently.
My husband loves to work outside in yard doing the
usual maintenance required to keep a large piece of property in order
and always rises with the sun. I
was awakened by Henry and Baby in our bedroom with a lot of face licking
and barking. I knew that my
husband had already gotten up and taken them out for the "morning
duties" and couldn't figure out why both of them were so excited.
I soon discovered that my husband had injured himself and could
not make it back into our home for help.
When I bent over and asked them, "What's the matter?"
they instantly darted for the back door and ran into our backyard and
made a beeline for Daddy. My
alarm clock was set to go off an hour later than the time I got up that
morning.
Thanks
to the double teaming of our little rescue squad, my husband made a good
recovery. All I can say is
that when God closes a door, he always opens a window.
I give thanks each day that these two angels crawled into my
window.
