foster
failure times two!
Matt and Jessica are our foster failures. After sending our
basset to
the bridge last December we said never again then decided to foster this
summer. Our first fosters came and stole everything ... hearts, bed, and
couch! After four months these two are still angels (well, most of the
time!). We've gone to Bark in the Park, a "must" for any social basset.
You can get belly rub overdoses there. We also went to children's festival
where they were able to kiss many kids and steal a few treats.
The joy in having these two is that
we won't have to pay to go to the races. They chase each other around the yard in the Basset 500 and then come in
promptly fall asleep, unless you have something to eat.
How any owner could turn these two
in to a shelter, baffles us .
They appear to have been a bred pair and Jessica shows the signs of being
bred frequently. The joy is to watch them love and kiss each other and then argue over who
gets which bed. And of course Jessica always wins, because Matt is
such a gentleman!

A
sad footnote. Jessica passed away suddenly on Valentine's Day,
2002 from heart failure. Her family and Matt are doing fine but
they miss her terribly.
