me exercise? ya gotta be kidding!

Hi Miss Helen and everybody! Guess what? I'm 2 years old now! I've been in my home for over a year and a half and I've become such a smart girl!

Me with Miss Helen before I was adoptedAt night, I sleep with Mom and Dad because I really like Swedish foam mattresses and soft pillows. Maizy, the little beagle who is just my age, sleeps with us too - its usually not a problem, but I'd really prefer to sleep on my back crosswise across the bed, but then no one else fits....so most of the time, I give in and share some space.

In the morning Maizy and I go outside to see what's up in the back yard and bark at the birds. We don't need a rope to tie us anymore because we have a fence now! We used to wait until Mom opened the door, then we'd dash out and make her chase us around the neighborhood - oh that was fun....then one day, she opened the back door and told us to just go on out! Well, we was scared and shivered on the back porch for a week until we realized that there was a fence - our human brother, Connor, 8, had to keep us company until we got used to it! Now we play like crazy racing around and pulling up Mom's lavender plants!

After that, I like to sit on the couch and do homeschool with Alexa and Connor. I can sitsitsitsitsit all day if they want! Usually that means I can steal something from their lunch plates or catch some crumbs if they're eating and studying.....

Around 4, we have our Flint River Ranch food and Maizy and me turn into Hoovers and walk around the kitchen gettin' up any crumbs that fell......But then comes the bad part.....our MOM is into this crazy fitness - it was ok when I was a baby, but NOW, she expects me to walk 2 miles with her and Maizy....Maizy likes it ok, and I'll do once around the block, but then, FORGET it! I refuse! I lay stretched out on the street and refuse to move....if mom pesters me, I lay on my BACK and just gaze at the sky! If she really insists, I fuss and wiggle out of my collar and turn for home....and if she doesn't follow me, I stand still on the street and bark until she comes too! I don't want to be kidnapped after all! Mom mutters at me until we reach home and I rush over to Daddy and porch sit a while and Mom finishes the walk with Maizy...geesh - what's so great about fitness anyhow?

We travel too! I go to see Grandmom in NY and we drove through Pennsylvania Dutch country to see Grandpa - I like to travel...I sit in the front seat and watch the road with Mom, then I sleep in the backseat with the kids when I'm sure she's in the right direction.

Thank you Miss Helen for letting me have my family and to the family who put me up for 'doption.....I am a happy girl and walk around wagging my tail all day long!

Love,

MaggieMae
