life can be so hard

Odie is our love bug!!! He spent the first few weeks whining and getting out of his collar, harness, you name it!! Once he understood that we were his forever home, no more escape attempts. His major problem is that he thinks he should be a lap dog and doesn't quite fit!! Madeline (his 3 year old human sister) will sit on the floor with her legs spread and he will snuggle right into her lap!!

In December, we moved down the street from Odie's first foster home so now he gets to have "play dates" with Fred an friendly basset and former foster brother. They love to romp in my back yard--and Odie even got to have a sleep over at Fred's while we were on vacation!!

Of course, no dog's life is without drama, and Odie's currently is a German Shepherd named Maggie!! We found her wandering homeless in West Virginia and couldn't leave her there (and now can't give her up, but that's another story). Her play quotient is much higher than Odie's (being that she is so much younger) so Odie will wrestle with her, and then let her know when he is done and she should leave him alone!! Otherwise, they seem to be getting along great (and Odie was beginning to puff up, and the exercise from Maggie seems to be helping)

Thank you BROOD for taking in our precious "bagel" so that we can share our life, kids, cats and other dog with the sweetest snuggliest dog I have ever known!!
