life
is rosie
Three years ago, I contacted BROOD about
wanting to find a Basset to adopt, preferably near where we live. At the
time you had none listed in our area, but you wrote to tell me about a
female basset you thought was nearby. The owner had contacted you the
day before, and you had not even had a chance to register her. You sent
me the name and phone number of the owner. Thankfully!!!
We called and went to see her that afternoon. Rosie
was living in a small, broken down doghouse. As I walked toward the back
yard she saw me and started barking, uncontrollably. The owner let me
and my wife into the yard and Rosie went crazy, running around and
barking ferociously at me. We have since learned she was abused by her
male owner. She was a beautiful tricolor and had the most expressive
face.
Finally, I got down on the ground and let her come
to me in her own time. She finally calmed down.
We took her home that day, and she has become the
light of our lives. We can't imagine life without her. Incidentally, her
registered name is English Boxwood Rose. Our name is Rosenthal...it was
truly a match made in heaven!
I am a dentist and have a home/office combination.
My wife is my office manager and Rosie is our official greeter. Our
patients love her as well. When they arrive, many of them bring treats
for her, and they get down on the floor and play with her.
I can't thank you enough for your help.
Sincerely yours,
Ron
