sandy's
way
Some people might say I am a cat as I seem to have 9 lives.
My name is actually Sandy and I was found on the road to Nags Head and the people that rescued me turned me
over to BROOD. They found a wonderful foster home for me and I was very happy there but after a while a nice couple adopted me.
I am not sure what I did wrong but it just did not work out after a month so I came back to my nice foster home.
Now all this time there was a lady who wanted me very much.
She had seen my picture on the computer and inquired about me several times.
She visited other bassets but just knew I would somehow be the dog for her.
She seemed to know I would be available for adoption again. Sure enough it happened and she called right away.
Helen told her I was available and they made arrangements for me to be adopted again.
When she picked me up we just fell in love with each other. She took me home to meet
her three cats. They kind of got me in line real quick, but we're all pretty good friends now.
I have one really bad habit I like to escape and just run.
After just a couple weeks I escaped and found another basset family in the neighborhood.
My Mom brought me back and forgave me but she got very busy and guess what I did it again, only this time it was very scary.
I wondered out to the interstate and a nice V-DOT man found me. When my Mom got me back this time she bought a harness and the yard is being fenced in.
I think my running days are behind me.
Mom tells me after the holidays we are going to obedience
classes. I hope she can learn to obey, and she wants to train me to be a therapy dog.
I think that would be lots of fun.
I love taking long walks in our park and laying on my Moms lap.
She tells me I need a diet to do that!
I think I am a very lucky dog who is loved very much.
I hope lots of other people will adopt a dog like me soon. We all just want a good home and someone to love us. We'll be your best friend really!
