my boy seymour

First of all let me state that when I was a boy I was given a Basset puppy. He grew to be my best friend and we did everything together. Well that was a long time ago and I missed having that special bond with a special dog. Getting another basset had been on my mind more and more. I'd go on line and  look at the different sites that offered bassets. That's when I found the BROOD site.

Like a lot of people I was looking for a 1-2 year old basset. When asked about an older dog I thought of the myths people have about them. (Easy to get sick, will not bond and so forth.) But not being a spring chicken myself I thought I'd at least go meet the two "older dogs" I was told about.

I called and set up an appointment to meet "Seymour". Well let tell you when we met it just clicked! I was once again that little boy meeting his new best buddy. I couldn't sleep that night thinking about him! It's like we've been waiting for each other. Needless to say, Seymour came to his forever home that weekend.

I now foster for BROOD and have a shining example of an "older dog" to show people ... my boy Seymour.

Thanks to all at BROOD for letting a lot of other people and myself find their best buddy. It's one of the best decisions I ever made!
