sherman the ambassetdor

Although he came to us with the name "Sherman", he is now known as "The Ambassador", or if you will... "Am-BASSET-dor Sherman" (and not just because we live near the embassies in Washington DC).

After hearing so many wonderful things from a friend who is owned by Bassets, we set out to find one to take home. The adoption experience with BROOD was terrific. They asked all the right questions, spent some time answering our questions, and decided one who they thought was the perfect dog for us, "Sherman".

And they were so right. Sherman is such a joy. He makes us laugh everyday. Full of life - loves to play, walk, run. He has been known to leap over our coffee table with a mid-air flip to land perfectly on the couch. He is a model citizen in the house and everywhere he goes. 

And he goes EVERYWHERE with us! Where ever he is, he charms everyone with a wagging tale and a happy face. Dogs and humans alike. Not all squirrels, though. Everyone wants to meet him, pet him, rub his tummy, ask about his story, and sometimes they ask where we adopted him. AMBASSADOR SHERMAN is out there showing the world how wonderful Bassets are. 

And he's given us another bright spot in our lives (along with our two kitties). Although he's only been with us a few months, his personality continues to blossom and our bond with him continues to grow and deepen. He is a terrific companion - he seems to almost have forgotten his sorrowful past - just living for the moment and being happy & loving as much as he can.

We are forever grateful to BROOD to have Sherman in our lives!
