tommie's
terrific
Hi, my
name is Tommie. Back in October, some nice folks showed up to see me at
my foster home in Newport News, VA. They were all over me and I knew i
had them at "woof" (hello). The poor folks had just lost their
Basset Hound, Fred, who had to take a trip over the Rainbow Bridge. My
new mom saw my picture on the BROOD Website and said it was love at
first sight. After a nice visit with me and my foster parents, papers
were signed and pretty soon I was sitting in the back seat of their SUV
head'n for the mountains near Charlottesville, VA. I was a good boy in
the car and in a few hours I was at my new Log Cabin home with four
acres of land.
At first I
did some serious investigating of the home as it has three different
levels. I also found out I have a feathered brother, Zack, a conure
parrot who yaps a lot. I had a few not-so-good episodes of relieving
myself on the floor but my parents were understanding. As it turns out,
I had a bad UTI and after 42 days of antibiotics it cleared up.
My mom and dad also had an x-ray done to make sure there were no
other causes for my UTI and I got a clean bill of health from my new
vet, Dr. Grover. They did find out what I already knew though. Someone
had shot me with pellets and there are a few under my skin but not
harmful to my health.
I had a wonderful Christmas with lots of cuddle toys (my favorites)
and bones. Mom's sister even bought me my own stocking with my picture
on it ---cool beans.
My mom says I listen well but I still hate it when they go out and
have trouble holding my bladder for more than a few hours. Other than
that, life is great and I know they love me very much. I know I have
found my "Forever" home.
