BROOD Board Nomination

Become a Member of the BROOD Board

We are accepting nominations from current (2022 dues paid) BROOD members for the BROOD Board of Directors for the July 2022 to July 2024 term.  BROOD is required by its bylaws to have a minimum of three and not more than nine board members who serve a two-year term. The Board is responsible for establishing BROOD policies, overseeing rescue operations, authorizing expenditures and setting the annual budget.

Specific obligations of BROOD Board Members include:

  • Attending at least three out of four Board Meetings each year. Board meetings are held once a quarter and are usually held via audio or video conference calls.
  • Holding and fulfilling a major organizational role in the annual BROOD Ramble fundraiser in mid-September.
  • Having a major operational role in BROOD’s operations (e.g. Foster Director, Fundraising Coordinator, Transport Coordinator, Membership Coordinator, Adoptions Director, Social Media Coordinator, or other coordinator or director in the organization.)
  • Having email and checking it regularly and timely. (Most Board business is handled via email.)

If you would like to have a more active role in BROOD’s rescue work, then consider nominating yourself for a position on the Board. All you have to do is provide a short narrative about yourself, your experience and thoughts about our rescue work, and your reasons for wanting to be on the Board. To guide you in this process, we ask that you complete a short nomination questionnaire (below) and submit your nomination online. Nominations are due by May 31, 2022.

The election committee will make the online election ballot available to the membership via email in mid-June and voting will conclude on July 5. The membership will be asked to vote for up to nine people. The election results will be announced at the Annual Membership Meeting at Frying Pan Park in Herndon, VA on July 16.

If interested, just complete the Nomination Form below and click the SUBMIT button. Please limit your responses to each question to a paragraph or less – don’t get too wordy!! You need not answer all the questions, but the more information you are able to provide about your vision for BROOD’s future, the better. NOTE: If you choose NOT to answer a question, please put N/A in that section.

If you have any questions about being on the BROOD Board, please contact the BROOD President BEFORE you submit your nomination form.
